Planned work is tracked in the repository root:

In a local checkout, open ``BACKLOG.md`` and ``DONE.md`` next to ``README.rst`` in the project root.

Workflow
--------

This project no longer uses Beads. Track planned work in ``BACKLOG.md`` and move completed items to
``DONE.md``.

When a backlog item changes behavior, configuration, public APIs, workflows, examples, or user-facing usage,
update the relevant documentation in the same change. Update ``docs/changelog.rst`` when the completed item
changes behavior, fixes a bug, adds a feature, changes configuration, or affects users.
